KARACHI:
The Defence police station SHO was ordered to file a FIR against the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) CEO and two others for injuring KESC employees demanding their salaries a day before Eidul Fitr.
Additional district and sessions judge (South) Shahid Hussain Chandio passed the order in a private complaint filed under sections 22 A and 23 of the criminal penal code by KESC employee Muhammad Bashir.
Advocate Syed Haider Imam Rizvi presented the case and said that the KESC employees had gone to the office on August 29 to collect their salaries but were physically assaulted by the chief security officers and policemen on orders of the CEO Tabish Gohar.
They claimed that the police had resorted to direct firing on orders of the CEO and had injured Bashir.
The counsel for applicant said that his client went to the police station but they had refused to lodge the FIR. The judge told the SHO to record Bashir’s statement under section 154 of the penal code and file the FIR.
