Two arrested for 'embezzlement'

The FIA Anti-Corruption Circle, Islamabad, has arrested two suspects, including a customs official, for causing a loss of millions of rupees to the national treasury through corruption and embezzlement.

Among the arrested suspects was Imdad Ali, a principal appraiser officer at Customs, who, along with Sabir Ali, caused a loss of Rs 81.4m. Officials said a case was registered against the accused, who were arrested after their bail was cancelled.
