A father of five lost two of his children to gastroenteritis because he could not find glucose bottles and medicines.
SUKKUR:
A father of five lost two of his children to gastroenteritis because he could not find glucose bottles and medicines, in Mirpur Mathelo district.
Zamiran was four-year-old and Ghulam Qadir was a two-year-old toddler. Rano Bozdar, the father, and a resident of Kouro Bozdar village, took his children to the Civil hospital but no doctor paid them any heed.
Then he took them to a private doctor, in Jarwar, who prescribed expensive medicines.
Rano was not able to find those medicines in the market and had to resort to domestic remedies. Zamiran and Ghulam died on Saturday morning.
The residents say that most of the doctors in government hospitals seldom pay any attention to poor patients.
Instead of treating patients at the hospital, the doctors tend to focus on running their private practices.
