PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's Special Assistant on Forests, Environment, Wildlife, and Climate Change, Pir Musawir Khan, has said that coordinated efforts are being made by the Forest Department, Rescue teams, and local residents to contain the wildfire in the remote and rugged mountainous area of Jabban Dargai.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Pir Musawir Khan said that wildfires in the hilly areas of Malakand—including Allah Dhand, Chirat, and Gonyar—were successfully extinguished on Saturday. Referring to the Jabban Dargai blaze, he noted that senior officers and personnel from the Forest Department Malakand Division, Lower Swat, the Forest Patrol Squad, and the Wildlife Department are present on-site and actively participating in the rescue and firefighting operation.

He appealed to the public to support the government in protecting forests, emphasizing that forests are vital for our survival.

"That is why forest conservation and promotion have remained a top priority of the provincial government from day one," he said.

Pir Musawir Khan also praised the efforts of the Forest Department, Rescue 1122 teams, and local volunteers, affirming that all possible measures are being taken to protect forests across the province.
