Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday said that Rs10 million compensation will be paid to seven individuals martyred during the Indian attacks in Sindh including six personnel of the Pakistan Air Force at in Bolari airbase and a civilian, Mukhtiar Leghari, in Ghotki.

Talking to the media after hoisting the national flag at the New Sindh Secretariat to mark Youm-e-Tashakur or the National Day of Gratitude following country's successful retaliation against Indian aggression, he praised the valour of armed forces, stating, "Defending the homeland is every Pakistani's foremost duty and that the nation is proud of its brave sons who gave a befitting response to Indian aggression."

He paid tribute to the martyrs and commended the public's unwavering spirit of patriotism. He affirmed that the people of Sindh are fully aware of enemy's conspiracies and stand united in the face of threats.

The day began with a 21-gun salute in Karachi, followed by Quran recitation and prayers for the nation's progress, prosperity, and security.

Various events and rallies were held across the city to pay tribute to the armed forces' bravery and sacrifices. Participants expressed solidarity with the military and reiterated their commitment to defending the country.

Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Muhammad Avais Dastgir, visited the Quaid's mausoleum on the occasion of Youm-e-Tashakur and laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum of the Father of Nation and offered Fateha.

A flag hoisting ceremony was also held in Karachi Corps. Another ceremony was held at the Yadgar e Shuhada, Malir Garrison in connection with Youm-e-Tashakur. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Avais Dastgir visited Yadgar e Shuhada, laid floral wreath and offered Fateha. On this special occasion, other ministers, Chief Secretary Sindh, senior civil and military officers were also present. A decorated contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a salute at the Yadgar e Shuhada. CM and Corps Commander Karachi met with the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to their sacrifices for the sake of the motherland.

Events were also held in other districts of Sindh on Yadgar e Shuhadas which include Pano Aqil, Hyderabad Garrisons, Pakistan Coast Guards and Sindh Rangers Headquarters. Youm-e-Tashakur was also celebrated by Pakistan Police and other civil institutions and segments of society to mark the success of the country's Operation Bunyan Al-Marsoos.

Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori visited the mausoleum of the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah on the occasion of Yaum-e-Tashakur. Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly Ali Khursheedi and others were also present on the occasion. They laid floral wreaths, offered Fateha, paid tributes to the Quaid, and prayed for the development and prosperity of the country. The governor and the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly also inked their feelings in the visitors' book.

All major universities and educational institutions observed Youme Tashakur. Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a flag hoisting ceremony at the Jaun Elia Lawn to commemorate Operation Bunyan-un- Marsoos success and observe a national Day of Gratitude.
