Alex Hales shares message of support after returning for HBL PSL X
English batter Alex Hales has officially returned to Islamabad United for the resumed stages of HBL PSL 10, sharing a heartfelt message of support for the team.
Hales, a familiar face in United's red, acknowledged the challenges posed by the Pakistan Super League’s sudden suspension and subsequent rescheduling.
The tournament was halted earlier due to escalating regional tensions, with airspace closures and security concerns forcing the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to pause the season mid-way.
After days of uncertainty, HBL PSL 10 is finally set to resume on May 17.
Through it all, Hales remained committed. “Islamabad United has always been very close to my heart,” he said in a statement.
“They were the first PSL team I played for in Pakistan, and the support I’ve received from the fans and the franchise has been incredible throughout.”
“When they signed me back in April, I was really looking forward to joining up with the squad for the latter stages of the tournament. With the change in PSL dates, I’ve had to reshuffle a few commitments—but I’m absolutely thrilled to be back in Pakistan playing in Red,” Hales added.
HBL PSL 10 resumes with Islamabad United set to face Karachi Kings in one of the key fixtures in Rawalpindi before the playoff stages move to Lahore.
United, led by Shadab Khan, remain in contention for the title, and Hales’ return is expected to bolster their top order.
“Hopefully, I can contribute and help the team push for another title,” Hales said, signalling his readiness to perform on the field and reconnect with fans after an emotionally charged interruption to Pakistan’s premier cricket league.
