Turkiye stood by us: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday reaffirmed that while Pakistan has always desired peace in South Asia, it will never accept any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Talking to Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye, Irfan Neziroglu, who called on him, the prime minister said it was in the spirit of peace that Pakistan had agreed to the recent ceasefire understanding with India.

He expressed deep gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for standing resolutely with Pakistan during the recent tensions in the region, PM Office Media Wing said in a statement. "Through his steadfast support, President Erdogan once again demonstrated his deep affection for the people of Pakistan."
