Motorcycling: Stoner sets the pace
Stoner had been third-fastest in Friday’s lone session.
ARAGON:
World Championship leader Casey Stoner moved to the top of the Aragon MotoGP time-sheets during an extended morning practice session, edging out Repsol Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa. Stoner had been third-fastest in Friday’s lone session but led much of yesterday’s practise, putting together his best lap on his eighth of 24 to top the timesheets. The Australian set a time of one minute and 49.272 seconds in a session extended by half an hour. Pedrosa closed to within 0.062 seconds of Stoner at the very end of the session, but it is believed that he used a new tyre while Stoner was setting a similar pace on used rubber.
