Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan in dual roles, has crossed the $200 million domestic box office mark in its fourth weekend of release. The milestone was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, with the film ending Friday at $199.8 million and surpassing the threshold over the weekend.

Produced by Warner Bros., Sinners has become the second-highest-grossing domestic film of the year so far, trailing only A Minecraft Movie. With a production budget estimated at $90 million, the film has quickly established itself as a standout in the 2025 cinematic lineup.

Starring Hailee Steinfeld and Jack O’Connell alongside Jordan, the film’s popularity has led to the expansion of IMAX screenings. From 15 to 21 May, Sinners will return to selected 70mm IMAX theatres across major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Toronto. Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. Pictures' president of global distribution, stated, “If ever a film needed to be experienced in this incredible, larger-than-life format, it’s Sinners.”

Set in Mississippi in 1932, Sinners follows twin World War I veterans, Smoke and Stack—both portrayed by Jordan—who are targeted by vampires disguised as civilians. The story weaves horror, romance, and action with social commentary on racial tensions of the era.

Critically acclaimed for its genre-defying narrative, Sinners holds a 97% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, a 96% audience rating, and an 8.1 rating on IMDb. It has also climbed to No. 20 on the list of the highest-grossing horror films of all time, according to The Numbers.

Director Coogler remarked on his approach, saying he aimed to challenge genre conventions. “I wanted to make a film that was kind of raging against the concept of genre,” he said.
