Tourism police contracts to be extended
The Commandant of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Police, Umar Khan, announced on Wednesday that efforts are underway to extend the contracts of Tourism Police personnel currently deployed across scenic destinations in the province.
Speaking at the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), Commandant Khan praised the dedication and professionalism of the Tourism Police, stating that their services have earned widespread appreciation from both domestic and international visitors.
"The Tourism Police have played a commendable role in facilitating tourists and ensuring their safety. The extension of their contracts is being actively pursued and will be implemented soon," he said, addressing a gathering of officers.
Also present on the occasion were Deputy Superintendent of Police Asmat Ara, KPCTA Assistant Directors Naumanullah and Muhammad Zeeshan, along with other senior officials.
Commandant Khan emphasized that Tourism Police officers are ambassadors of K-P and play a critical role in shaping the perception of the province.
"Your presence and conduct at key tourist sites like Naran, Swat, Chitral, Kalash, and Nathiagali not only support tourism but also reflect the hospitality of our people," he noted.
He directed officers to ensure full attendance during the upcoming tourist season and assured them that logistical challengessuch as fuel for patrollingwould be addressed as a priority.
