Kanye West is preparing to file a lawsuit against his former dentist, Dr Thomas P. Connelly, alleging that the practitioner’s treatment led to an addiction to nitrous oxide and caused serious neurological damage. A notice of intention to sue has already been sent, as confirmed by documents obtained by TMZ.
According to the notice, West first visited Connelly in 2024 for the installation of a custom titanium crown.
The complaint accuses the dentist of repeatedly administering nitrous oxide for non-medical purposes, allowing self-administration of the gas without supervision, and continuing treatment despite signs of adverse neurological and behavioural effects. West’s legal team also cites allegations of over-billing.
The claims echo earlier allegations made by West’s former chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos.
In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, Yiannopoulos wrote, “There is a reason Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is no longer capable of successfully releasing music or clothing. The most serious and the most recent is his dentist, Thomas Connelly… Connelly got Ye hooked on nitrous—laughing gas.”
Yiannopoulos suggested that Connelly may have intentionally impaired West’s cognitive function for financial gain, claiming that he and associates aimed to extract millions from the artist.
In response, Connelly issued a public statement through his legal representatives, denying all accusations. “Dr Thomas P. Connelly categorically denies all the false allegations made by Milo Yiannopoulos in his affidavit,” it read. “Mr Yiannopoulos, who has admitted in the same affidavit to being motivated by personal grievances, has presented a narrative that is not only factually incorrect but also intentionally misleading.”
As of now, no official lawsuit has been filed, but the situation remains under legal review. Representatives for West have not issued further comment.
