Virginia Giuffre, the well-known advocate for sexual abuse survivors, tragically passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 41.

Her death, confirmed by family sources, is not being treated as suspicious by Western Australian authorities, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances. Giuffre was found unresponsive at her residence in Perth.

Giuffre's family, who hailed her as a "fierce warrior" in the fight against sexual abuse and trafficking, released a statement following her death. The statement celebrated Giuffre's courage, noting that despite the significant adversity she faced throughout her life, she "shone so bright" and would be deeply missed.

Known for her outspoken advocacy, Giuffre gained international attention for her accusations against financier Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Her allegations, which included claims of grooming and sexual assault, led to her being a central figure in the #MeToo movement. Giuffre also settled a civil lawsuit with Prince Andrew in 2022, although he denied all accusations and made no admission of wrongdoing.

In her final handwritten note, Giuffre called on the public to unite and support survivors of sexual abuse. "Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, and Brothers need to show the battle lines are drawn, and stand together to fight for the future of victims," she wrote. "Is protesting the answer? I don't know. But we've got to start somewhere."

The emotional letter, shared publicly by Giuffre's sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, encouraged survivors to continue their fight for justice. Roberts explained that the note was found after Giuffre's passing and felt it was important to share it with the world. "We stand with you in solidarity," Roberts wrote. "Her words are: 'Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, and Brothers need to show the battle lines are drawn.'"

Roberts vowed to carry on Giuffre's mission in her memory, stating, "I hope you're dancing my beautiful sister. We miss you with all our heart and soul. Rest now, angel, we will carry your legacy."

Giuffre's passing has prompted an outpouring of support from the survivor community, as her final message continues to inspire action for victims' rights.
