The government's decision to temporarily postpone the controversial plan to draw new canals from the River Indus is being hailed as a significant victory for the people of Sindh.

Leaders and activists have attributed this success to the united efforts of political figures, lawyers, students, farmers, women, journalists, and citizens from all sectors of society.

The Sindh Bachao Tehreek has also announced a consultative meeting, to be hosted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on April 30, where the next phase of action will be discussed.

The leaders congratulated the people of Sindh on their success and reaffirmed their commitment to continue the joint struggle.
