The Sindh Bar Council (SBC), in a unanimous resolution, issued by Acting Secretary Rustam Bhutto, has said that lawyers' organisations and civil society are requested to end all protests as the canals issue has been resolved politically and legally. "We appeal to all citizens and organisations to end the protests."
Meanwhile, the protest of lawyers against the construction of more canals on the Indus River entered day-nine on Monday.
Lawyers have closed the gates of the City Court to petitioners.
Only lawyers, judges, and staff are being allowed to enter the court premises, while prisoners are not being brought from jails.
Court proceedings are continuing as usual in the Sindh High Court.
According to bar leaders, the protest will continue until the notification for the canals construction was withdrawn.
