Transgender person tortured in public

Armed men tortured and attempted to kidnap a transgender woman in public after she resisted their advances in the Daniwal area.

After a video of the incident surfaced on social media, the police arrested the suspects Atif and Imran from Hasilpur and Tahir Javed from Arifwala.

According to police officials, Rana Phool and Rana Moon, along with their friends, had tortured the transgender person in public at a road intersection, cut her hair and tried to kidnap her in a car on April 23.

The victim was injured because of the violence and was shifted to a hospital.

The police said the attackers had fled from the scene while firing.

Video footage of the incident went viral on social media, in which the suspects were seen torturing the victim and firing at her.

On the complaint of the victim, the Daniwal police registered a case and initiated legal action. '

Vehari District Police Officer Muhammad Afzal said the suspects had gone into hiding after the incident. Police teams traced and arrested three of them.
