The All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association has appealed for immediate action to address the potential threat to lives and property due to road closures in Sindh. According to Association President Muhammad Owais Chaudhry, important highways and link roads have been closed due to ongoing protests against new canals, stranding thousands of vehicles, including oil tankers, gas tankers, and coal trucks, for several days.
This situation is paralysing commercial activities and poses a serious threat to human lives and valuable property. Chaudhry warned that the prolonged exposure of hazardous vehicles to the sun could lead to fires, explosions, or other serious accidents with catastrophic consequences.
Criticising the administration for inaction despite repeated reminders, Chaudhry urged the Prime Minister, Army Chief, and Chief Justice to take immediate notice and reopen blocked roads.
He also requested that stranded vehicles be moved to safe locations and business activities and essential goods supply be restored promptly.
