Two soldiers martyred, 15 terrorists killed in KP IBOs: ISPR
Security forces killed 15 terrorists in three separate operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military media wing said in a statement on Saturday.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted on the nights of April 25 and 26 in the districts of Karak, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan.
In Karak, eight militants were killed during an exchange of fire following intelligence reports about their presence.
In a separate operation in North Waziristan, four militants were killed. However, two soldiers, Lance Naik Usman Mohmand and Sepoy Imran Khan, were martyred. Lance Naik Usman hailed from Charsadda district, while Sepoy Imran was from Kurram district.
In South Waziristan's Gomal Zam area, security forces killed three more militants. Weapons, ammunition, and a large quantity of explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists. A sanitisation operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threats, ISPR added.
The military stated that the killed militants were involved in various acts of terrorism. "Pakistan’s armed forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the ISPR statement said.
Separately, the President, Prime Minister, and Interior Minister praised the successful operations and paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, extending condolences and support to their families.
