RAWALPINDI:

Investigation Officers (IOs) of Attock district police on Thursday submitted in the special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) all challans (charge sheets) in 15 cases of November 24 and 26 PTI protests at D-Chowk.

A total of 15 cases were registered across five police stations regarding the November protests.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the ATC distributed copies of the charge sheets among the 1,500 PTI leaders and workers named in these cases. The court summoned all accused individuals to appear on the next hearing date, May 2, when formal charges would be framed against them.

Among those charged is Salar Khan Kakar, a senior PTI leader from Balochistan, who also received copies of the charge sheets in all 15 cases. These cases include serious charges under the ATA, such as attempted murder, rioting, arson, vandalism, and destruction of public property, including the burning of government vehicles.

During the hearing, Station House Officers (SHOs) from all involved police stations in Attock, along with large contingents of investigation teams, appeared before the court. A 20-member legal team representing PTI also submitted their powers of attorney in court.
