Three names shortlisted for NED VC

The search committee (Talash Committee) set up to appoint vice chancellors in public universities has shortlisted three names for the VC post of NED University.

The three personalities have been short listed for the said position after interviews held on Friday in which seven candidates appeared, although nine had been called for interviews following the scrutiny process.

Sources told The Express Tribune that the three candidates whose names have been shortlisted for the VC slot include the current Pro Vice Chancellor of NED Dr Tufail Ahmed, Dr Ghaus Bakhsh Narejo and Dr Zulfiqar Ali Memon.

It may be noted that a total of 17 candidates had submitted applications for the post.

According to sources, the names of the three shortlisted candidates are being sent to the security agencies for clearance and after receiving green signal from there, the Universities and Boards Department will send the summary to the Controlling Authority of Universities, Sindh, the Chief Minister of Sindh, who will select one of the names as the VC.
