Easter weekend brings crowds to parks

The parks' administration had also built new swings for Easter and had tightened the security system.

During the Easter Festival this year, the Christian community of the twin cities continued their festive traditions by exchanging and eating sweets after the special Easter services that took place on Sunday morning before heading to recreational places.

Families with children went to Ayub Park and visited its three lakes, Joyland, Jungle Kingdom, the Zoo, Allama Iqbal Park and Patriata where they enjoyed boating and chairlift rides. A large number of visitiors also went to Malika Kohsar Muree, where they spent time with wild animals and took selfies standing outside their cages. Children also enjoyed the mono train and horse riding.

The parks' administration had also built new swings for Easter and had tightened the security system. However, families complained about the increase in parking fees for cars and motorcycles at all parks, expensive swings and expensive food and drinks.

Victor Elias said that all food and drink items were 40 per cent more expensive than the market price. Robin Alexander complained that the car parking fee was Rs150, and the motorcycle parking fee was Rs100. Iqbal Masih reported that a plate of Chana Chaat was being sold for Rs 300, Gol Guppay for Rs280 and a small bottle of drink for Rs90.
