Family, activists demand justice in murder case

The family has approached the court and demanded that IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, order a judicial inquiry

SANGHAR:

A sit-in protest was held in front of the Sanghar Press Club, by heirs and activists demanding the arrest of Faqeer Ismail Khaskheli's killer. A year ago, Khaskheli was killed at an electronics shop, Iqbal Electronics, by Iqbal Bhatti.

Democratic Alliance leaders Jabbar Junejo, Imran Khaskheli, Azeem Ranjho, representatives of the Primary Teachers Association, and the family of the slain, claimed that police have failed to arrest the killer, alleging that they are instead protecting Iqbal, providing protocol to his shop, his home, and his family. Further, the protesters claimed that police have registered a false case of firing at the shop against the deceased's family, have raided their home and violated their privacy, while also pressuring them to withdraw the murder case.

The family has approached the court and demanded that IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, order a judicial inquiry into the incident and take legal action against the involved police officers. Meanwhile, lawyers at the protest said that Sanghar police are determined to destroy the city's peace and environment, and they will take legal action against them.
