On Wednesday, veteran actor Nadia Afghan shared a behind-the-scenes video from her latest project, capturing a spontaneous moment of joy as she and her co-stars Affan Waheed and Amar Khan experienced an unexpected hailstorm in Islamabad. The video shows the cast and crew marveling at the sudden weather change, with laughter and excitement evident as rain fell outside the building they were shooting in.

In the video Afghan posted, the camera captures a candid, joy-filled moment on-set as a sudden hailstorm sweeps through Islamabad. She, along with co-stars, and the rest of the crew, steps into the balcony in amazement, laughing and filming the downpour of hailstones. The horizon is quickly muddled with rain as everyone soaks in the surprise weather, their excitement palpable. Afghan pans the camera to show the entire team marvelling at nature's unexpected show, turning a hectic filming day into a moment of childlike wonder. The video is light, candid, and brimming with contagious energy.

The hailstorm, which struck Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was a rare and intense weather event. According to reports, the storm lasted approximately 35 minutes, with large hailstones causing damage to vehicles, breaking windscreens, and uprooting trees in areas like Tarnol. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) reported power outages in several sectors and initiated drainage operations to manage the flash floods triggered by the heavy rainfall.

This incident also highlights the increasing unpredictability of weather patterns in the region, which experts attribute to climate change. Former climate change minister Sherry Rehman commented on the storm, describing the hail as "coming down like pellets" and emphasising the role of human-induced climate change in such extreme weather events.

However, Afghan's video foregrounds a childlike wonder at the ensuing storm. On the work front, Afghan continues to captivate audiences with her compelling performances in recent television dramas. In Tan Man Neel O Neel, she portrays a resilient middle-aged housewife navigating societal expectations and personal desires, offering a nuanced depiction of mature intimacy and empowerment. Previously, in Kabuli Pulao, Afghan delivered a poignant performance as Shamim, a woman grappling with unrequited love and emotional turmoil, showcasing her versatility and depth as an artist.

While Afghan did not specify the project they were filming, the presence of notable actors like Affan Waheed and Amar Khan suggests an upcoming television drama or film. Fans have expressed excitement and curiosity about the project, eagerly awaiting more details.
