Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahir-ul Islam called on the chief minister to discuss the situation in Sindh. The chief minister told Islam that the livestock department was directed to give medical aid to the cattle to minimise deaths. The commander told Qaim Ali Shah about his visit to the flood-affected areas and the work by the armed forces, including Pakistan Navy and the Air Force, to help the people of Badin, Tharparkar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Mirpurkhas. It was decided that medical aid should be provided to control the spread of epidemic diseases.
