Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner were offered a rare opportunity to join Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission, which launched on April 14 with an all-female crew. However, the two declined the invitation, citing personal reasons that kept them grounded.
The NS-31 flight featured a star-studded crew including singer Katy Perry, broadcaster Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, researcher Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. The mission, launched from West Texas, was the 11th human flight for Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket.

According to a source, Kris Jenner opted out due to safety concerns and her responsibilities as a mother and grandmother. "Kris absolutely did not want to go for safety concerns and not wanting to put herself in a risky position being a mom and a grandma," the insider told The US Sun.
Kim Kardashian was reportedly more open to the idea but faced scheduling conflicts that prevented her participation. "Kim was more open to it but had scheduling conflicts. Maybe in the future, especially seeing how much of a success this flight was," the source added.
Both were in attendance at the launch site near Van Horn, Texas, to support close friend Lauren Sánchez, who also participated in the flight.

Kris expressed her admiration for the crew, saying, "This is a really unique experience and we’re just so honoured to be here to support them and watch this amazing part of history."
The mission, which briefly crossed the Kármán line—the internationally recognised edge of space—lasted under 11 minutes.
