Society Of Petroleum Engineers: Pakistani engineer honoured

Nazir Ahmed was awarded in appreciation of his contribution to the field of petroleum engineering.

ISLAMABAD:
Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), an international body of professionals working in the oil and gas sector, has selected Mujahid Nazir Ahmed for the SPE Regional Services Award in appreciation of his contribution to the field of petroleum engineering, a statement said on Friday. Ahmed is the first Pakistani who will receive the SPE Regional Services Award. He was selected from engineers belonging to 14 countries, including India, the statement said. Ahmed will receive the award at the SPE Middle East Regional Award Gala, which will be held in Abu Dhabi next month. Ahmed has been working in the oil and gas sector for 14 years. After doing BSc in petroleum engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, he joined the exploration and production department of British Petroleum (BP) in May 1997 as trainee engineer. Ahmed is currently associated with BHP Petroleum (Private) Limited as senior production engineer.
