Singer Salman Ahmad has been booked under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly spreading propaganda against state institutions on social media, Express News reported.

According to the police, the case has been registered at the Defence A police station in Lahore on behalf of law enforcement authorities. The FIR accused Ahmad of posting content deemed "false and provocative" on X where he has over 265,000 followers.

Police alleged the singer’s posts targeted national security institutions and state entities. The FIR claimed that one such post, described as “hate-inciting,” was directly viewed by an on-duty police officer, prompting the registration of the case.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Ahmad has been detained or summoned for questioning.
