Punjab is expected to experience dry but pleasant weather during the upcoming Eidul Fitr holidays, according to a new forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The report also suggests that cooler winds are making their way through the province, largely due to snowfall in the upper regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Express News reported.

The impact of the northern weather system has improved conditions across central and eastern parts of the country.

In Lahore, temperatures dropped slightly on Friday.

The minimum temperature fell to 16°C, down from 18°C, while the maximum is expected to remain around 30°C instead of the earlier 32°C. Dry conditions are forecast to persist.

Officials say the return of cold winds has added a chill to mornings and evenings across Punjab, offering a more comfortable environment than the warmer spells seen earlier in the season.

“The weather system has shifted, bringing dry air and cooler winds,” a meteorological expert said. “This will likely continue through the Eid holidays.”

The department confirmed that no rainfall is expected in Punjab over the break, and the skies are likely to remain clear in most areas.

The seasonal shift provides a favourable outlook for families travelling during Eid or planning outdoor gatherings.

Yesterday, because of new weather system in Punjab, rain and strong winds bought weeks of dry weather to an end.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall with winds in several districts, including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha divisions.

While many areas will experience showers and strong winds, Lahore and other regions are expected to see cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine but no rain.
