Kim Kardashian criticized for allowing North West to appear in FKA Twigs’ music video
North West is back in the spotlight after appearing in the music video for FKA Twigs' latest single, Childlike Things. The eight-minute video premiered on March 27, 2025, on YouTube and includes cameos from Kim Kardashian, Kevin Smith, and Jake Shane as fictional music executives.
FKA Twigs took to Instagram to celebrate the collaboration, writing, “Childlike things music video out now! Thank you north for being so wonderful and cool to collaborate with u lil angel, my 13 year old self is smiling right now. Link in bio xx.”
In the video, North is heard rapping lines like: “Hello, my name is North / From California to Tokyo / Jesus the King / Praise God / Jesus is the only true God.” Directed by Jordan Hemingway, the video has quickly gone viral, drawing both praise and criticism.
One user wrote, “I still don’t get the hate around this song. North wrote the verse herself, she wasn’t saying anything inappropriate for a kid, she is also dressed age-appropriately in the video. Where’s the issue? The kid ate down.”

Others were less enthusiastic. Critics commented on X (formerly Twitter), with remarks like, "I see why Kanye is mad. This is inappropriate," and "Is it just me or is this sh*t unacceptable." Another user wrote, "I can only share my own opinion, a lil girl has no business starring in this video."

However, others offered praise, with reactions including, "She’s talented. I like her," "She’s a little star, my North Star," and "Genuinely, how is this inappropriate for North??"
Amid the growing discourse, FKA Twigs addressed her creative decision, explaining her choice in a March 21 Instagram video. "It [needed] someone who has that tenacity, who has that strong point of view that you have when you’re 11. Then I saw an interview with North West, and she was so confident. It suddenly occurred to me that I would’ve loved to have a friend like North who could speak up for themselves."
Twigs added that North’s lyrics were "powerful," emphasizing her "strong and unwavering point of view" for such a young age. The song is part of FKA Twigs' latest album 'Eusexua,' which dropped in January and charted on the Billboard 200.
Fans continue to debate the visual's message, but one sentiment is clear—North West is quickly becoming a voice of her generation, whether everyone agrees or not.
