
A surge in violent crimes has gripped the Burewala Circle of Vehari district, where six murders in just 17 days have left residents in fear and raised concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation.
The wave of killings began on March 8 when Dr Naimat was brutally murdered on the Mujahid Colony bridge.
Just days later, on March 16, a young girl was mysteriously killed in 371-EB, an area under the jurisdiction of Gagoo Police Station.
The situation worsened in the third week of March. On March 21, Mazhar Hussain was shot dead during a robbery in Ali Town.
On the same day, Sheikh Fazil police discovered a body stuffed in a sack, deepening the panic in the city. Two days later, on March 23, a widow was murdered in New K Block. That same evening, another fatal shooting occurred in Gulshir Town, where Irshad Ahmed Rahmani was killed while attempting to break up a dispute.
According to reports, Irshad Rahmani, a resident of Gulshir Town, was at home when a heated argument erupted between neighbors Danish Malik and Muzammil, a resident of Ahata Shahnawaz. As the dispute escalated, Lala Adnan and Shehroz from Ashraf Town, along with Irshad Abbas from Akhtar Town, arrived at the scene.
Rahmani intervened to defuse the situation, but Muzammil, in a fit of rage, opened fire, instantly killing him.
