Delayed FIA inquiry sparks call for justice

The inquiry against a senior officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been delayed.
The complainant has urged Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency to follow through with the inquiry and provide justice.
Shehnaz Ashraf had submitted a written request to the FIA Director General, in which she stated that she was a victim of a case involving that had been registered in Karachi.
She mentioned that she had also requested an inquiry into the actions taken by the officer previously in 2017 and the violation of court orders in 2022.
At that time, additional Director Cyber Crime Waqaruddin Syed had been appointed as the inquiry officer for the matter.
However, Shehnaz said that more than nine months have passed since, and that no progress has been made in the case.
The application further stated that reminders regarding the inquiry were sent earlier, but no action was taken.
When The Express Tribune contacted the FIA spokesperson, he initially assured that information would be provided after verification but did not offer any response.
