Makkah recorded the highest levels of rainfall across Saudi Arabia on Friday, with the Sarar area in Taif governorate receiving 64mm, according to a report from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

The report, published yesterday, tracked precipitation levels across the Kingdom over the past 24 hours. Data from 129 hydrological and climatic monitoring stations indicated that rainfall was recorded in 10 regions, including Riyadh, Mecca, Qassim, the Eastern Province, Asir, Hail, Jazan, Najran, Al Baha, and Al Jouf.

In Makkah, Al Hada Park in Taif received 42.8mm, while Madrakah in Al Jamum saw 40.4mm. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah recorded 24mm.

The Asir region also witnessed significant rainfall, with Tamniyah in Abha receiving 29.4mm and Al Shaaf in Abha measuring 27.2mm. Further south, Jazan’s Al Dair recorded 23.7mm.

Eastern and central regions also saw moderate rainfall, with Umm Al Shafallah station in Al Qarya Al Ulya receiving 6mm, while Riyadh’s Kharoub farms in Shaqra recorded 4mm.

Authorities continue to monitor weather patterns closely as Saudi Arabia experiences varying levels of precipitation across the country.
