On Tuesday, in a vlog on her YouTube channel My White Kitchen, veteran actor Bushra Ansari delved into the evolving dynamics of Ramazan observances, particularly focusing on the burgeoning trend of Ramazan television transmissions and their impact on traditional worship practices.

Reflecting on the current festive nature of Ramazan, Ansari observed that contemporary celebrations have become more elaborate, with heightened attention to culinary preparations for sehri and iftar. She noted, "Now, our Ramzan has become so festive. People focus on cooking sehri and iftar, and every channel airs programmes related to cooking, fun and various activities. I also attend these Ramzan transmissions frequently." However, the actor thinks that there is a negative side to this emerging culture as she expressed, "It's fine if they serve as a source of entertainment for people, but personally, I feel that we worship less because of them."

Ansari candidly shared her personal experiences, recalling that in earlier times, Ramazan was characterised by a deeper engagement in worship. She reminisced about days spent engaged in prayers, contrasting it with the current trend where individuals spend considerable time in front of television screens, engrossed in Ramazan transmissions. She emphasised, "I remember our parents didn't like us watching TV or engaging in other activities during fasting because they used to say that ibadat (worship) and sabr (patience) are the true essence of Ramzan."

Widespread media coverage has the greatest impact on celebrities, making them most eligible for fame and most vulnerable to damage. In February, Ansari addressed false claims circulating online, stating that some YouTubers were falsely alleging that her daughter had kicked her out of their shared home. She clarified that they still live together, making such rumours baseless. The actor retorted, "I don't know who these people are, but they are making millions and billions. We are from a completely different world."

She went on to question why people spread such misinformation, noting that their fake voices expose their dishonesty, urging social media users to stop supporting those who promote fake news and instead use online platforms responsibly.
