The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 58 crore ($6.7 million) for Team India following their victorious campaign at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The financial reward acknowledges the contributions of players, coaching staff, and the Men’s Selection Committee in securing the prestigious title.
Led by Rohit Sharma, India dominated the tournament with a series of commanding performances. The team opened with a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh, followed by an identical six-wicket win against arch-rivals Pakistan.
A 44-run triumph over New Zealand solidified their position before a hard-fought four-wicket win over Australia in the semi-final paved the way for the final showdown.
BCCI President Roger Binny praised the team’s achievement, highlighting the significance of back-to-back ICC trophies.
"Winning consecutive ICC titles is special, and this reward recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. This also marks our second ICC triumph in 2025 after the U19 Women’s World Cup win, further strengthening India’s cricketing foundation," he said.
Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia echoed the sentiment, stating that the team’s dominance was a result of years of hard work and strategic execution.
"This victory reinforces India’s position at the top of white-ball cricket. The players’ commitment has set a new benchmark, and we are confident that Indian cricket will continue to excel globally," he remarked.
BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla commended the team’s ability to handle pressure, calling the reward a tribute to their outstanding performances.
"The players displayed remarkable composure, proving once again that Indian cricket thrives on skill, mental toughness, and a winning mentality. Their success will inspire the next generation of cricketers."
With this victory, India continues to solidify its dominance in international cricket, setting the stage for further success in the years to come.
