M-6 land acquisition faces delays

Commissioner Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi on Wednesday took strict notice of delays in land acquisition cases in Sukkur and Khairpur.

In a meeting attended by officials including Additional Commissioner Muhammad Hajan Ujjan, Deputy Commissioner Dr Muhammad Baqir Raja Dharejo, and Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Syed Ahmed Fawad Shah, Abbasi expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work and directed for paperwork to be completed within a week, and for recommendations regarding Section 4 of the M-6 land acquisition project to be submitted in 15 days.

He further asked to be provided reasons for the delay in land positioning in Khairpur, issuing show-cause notices to concerned officials.

The commissioner emphasised the need for action in land acquisition cases, stating that delays cause damage to the government. Meanwhile, he directed officials to be prepared for the next meeting and to provide updates on the status of the land acquisition cases.
