ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi have approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking bail in the 190 million pounds case.

In a petition submitted through their counsel Salman Safdar, Imran and Busrha Bibi prayed the court to suspend the January 17 ruling till the conclusion of the main appeal. They also requested the court to release them on bail. They assured the court that they would attend all hearings.

It is pertinent to mention that Imran and Bushra Bibi had earlier filed an appeal against the Accountability Court ruling in the 190 million pounds case. They requested the court to acquit them in the case by nullifying their convictions. They contended that NAB had showed ill-intention and misused its powers as it had not obtained the text of the agreement from the National Crime Agency. They submitted that the prosecution had failed to furnish all evidences in the case and the court announced the verdict on the basis of incomplete investigation.
