Disabled persons to get assistive devices

The district government has prepared a list of persons with disabilities who are eligible to receive assistive devices under the CM Assistive Devices Flagship Program.

In this regard a meeting was held by the District Welfare and Rehabilitation Unit was held, in which a briefing about providing wheelchairs — including electric wheelchairs — hearing aids, white canes and Braille boards was given. The assistive devices are to be distributed to 108 deserving persons.

The initiative is a positive development towards making the lives of disabled people easier and making them independent.
