Anti-encroachmentdrive triggers gunfire, chaos in Saddar

A violent protest broke out near Jahangir Park in the Preedy area during an anti-encroachment operation conducted by municipal authorities.

Amid the chaos, unidentified individuals resorted to heavy aerial firing, causing panic in the area. Videos of the incident, recorded on mobile phones, quickly went viral on social media, showing a large crowd of enraged protesters and the sound of gunfire, indicating the reckless use of weapons. Meanwhile, police remained passive observers.

When contacted, Preedy police station SHO Shabbir stated that the anti-encroachment team had arrived late night to clear illegal structures near Jahangir Park. However, due to intense protests, the operation had to be postponed. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.
