The New York Knicks’ 116-95 victory over the Miami Heat on Monday night was briefly delayed after comedian and actor Tracy Morgan vomited courtside at Madison Square Garden. The game was paused for approximately 10 minutes as staff attended to the unexpected situation.
Morgan, 56, a lifelong Knicks fan and Bronx native, was sitting near the court when he was seen vomiting heavily. The cause of the incident remains unclear, but he was later wheeled out of the arena. No further details on his condition have been released.
The moment, one of the strangest interruptions in recent NBA history, did not impact the game’s outcome. Play resumed smoothly after the clean-up, and the Knicks dominated Miami with a decisive performance.
Morgan, best known for his roles on “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” has faced several health challenges over the years. In 2010, he underwent a kidney transplant, and in 2014, he survived a severe car crash that left him in a coma for two weeks. It is uncertain whether his past medical history played any role in Monday’s incident or if he simply fell ill.
Despite the delay, the Knicks delivered a commanding performance. After a slow start, they outscored the Heat 41-15 in the third quarter to secure a comfortable win. Mikal Bridges led the team with 28 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 23 points and seven rebounds.
The victory improved the Knicks' record to 43-24 for the season. They will next face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night in Texas.
Morgan’s representatives have yet to comment on his condition following the incident.
