Karachi residents were treated to a spectacular celestial display as meteor showers streaked across the night sky, creating dazzling trails of light.

Astronomers explain that meteors are celestial objects that orbit the Sun and enter the Earth's atmosphere due to its gravity.

As they fall towards Earth, the friction with the atmosphere causes them to light up, creating brilliant streaks of light that are often referred to as "shooting stars."

These meteors, or "fireballs," provide an awe-inspiring sight as they travel through the sky, and are commonly referred to as "falling stars."

The luminous trails they leave behind can be seen from Earth as they burn up in the atmosphere before hitting the ground, a natural celestial phenomenon.

Experts further describe these meteors as "meteorites," with the streaks of light caused by their entry into the Earth's atmosphere.
