RAWALPINDI:

In light of rising security threats, the divisional intelligence committee has launched a comprehensive screening process to ensure that no Afghan nationals, criminals, or terrorists are present in the security setups of private housing societies.

A high-level meeting was held between Rawalpindi Commissioner Abdul Aamir Khattak, RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, and representatives of 79 private housing societies to discuss security concerns and regulatory issues.

During the meeting, the Rawalpindi commissioner stressed that ensuring foolproof security in these societies is the government's top priority. He underscored the necessity of thorough background checks on all security personnel and warned that failure to comply would result in strict legal action.

The representatives of the 79 housing schemes acknowledged the security challenges and pledged their full cooperation in implementing enhanced safety measures. Additionally, discussions were held on land encroachments within these societies.

RDA DG Kinza Murtaza emphasised that any illegal occupation should be immediately reported to the RDA and law enforcement, particularly if private security personnel are found involved in such activities.
