PPP MPA Jam Mahtab's convoy shot at in Ghotki, guard killed
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar's convoy was targeted in a shooting attack in Ghotki, which resulted in the death of one of his security guard and left three others injured, Express News reported.
According to Ghotki police, the incident occurred earlier today near Link Road Kanjho, close to Batri Wahi, within the jurisdiction of Kanjho Police Station. Armed assailants targeted the vehicle of MPA Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar, although the MPA remained unharmed during the attack.
As a result of the firing, Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar’s security guard, Zafar Dahar, was killed. Three other individuals, including close associates Asad Shah, driver Akhtar Pathan, and Chaniyar Dondho, sustained injuries.
Following the attack, SSP Ghotki Dr. Samiullah Soomro and DSP Obauro Abdul Qadir Soomro, along with a heavy police contingent, swiftly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. The injured were immediately transported to Dahrki Hospital for medical treatment, and a strict search operation has been launched in the surrounding area.
In a statement, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack and directed Sindh’s Inspector General (IG) of Police to ensure the immediate arrest of the perpetrators. The chief minister’s spokesperson added that Shah has also expressed his condolences over the incident and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.
