Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has held the ruling Pakistan People Party and its allies responsible for the miseries of Karachiites and said that the ruling regime has captured all the available resources for plundering.
Speaking at an Iftar gathering in Landhi on Saturday, he said, the PPP government has also captured Karachi's mayorship with the help of establishment.
Every public sector department, responsible for serving masses, has been hijacked by the PPP, he said.
He further said that the same PPP violated the constitution by negating devolution of powers to the local government representatives.
He lambasted the Muttahida Qaumi Movement for enjoying lavish life, moving around in luxury vehicles at the cost of the rights of Karachiites.
He said, daughters of Karachi deserve proper mass transit system, not the QinQchi rickshaws. Karachiites needs water in pipelines and round-the-clock electricity, he added.
He urged Karachiites to join JI's resistance movement after Eidul Fitr. The JI would initiate the movement by holding protests outsides the Governor and Chief Minister houses.
