An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday recorded statements from three prosecution witnesses in cases related to the torching of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) office during the May 9 riots.
ATC Judge Arshad Javed conducted the proceedings at Kot Lakhpat Jail, where incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, and Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, were produced. Several other accused individuals, currently out on bail, also appeared before the court.
The court recorded witness testimonies in FIR No. 366/23 and FIR No. 367/23, both registered by Model Town police. The judge then summoned additional prosecution witnesses for the next hearing, scheduled for March 24.
In a separate hearing, an ATC framed amended charges against several PTI leaders and party members in the Shadman Police Station torching case.
ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill presided over the proceedings at Kot Lakhpat Jail, where detained PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, and Senator Ejaz Chaudhry were presented.
