Balakot, Kaghan hit by intermittent rain, snowfall

MPA Munir Hussain Laghmani Advocate and Director General of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), Dr Shabbir Khan, arrived in the Kaghan Valley amid heavy rain and snow on Tuesday to review emergency arrangements.
Rainfall in Balakot and snowfall in the Kaghan Valley continued intermittently on Tuesday. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that the rain and snowfall will last until March 16.
During his visit, the KDA DG said that with the onset of winter tourism, under the guidance of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Advisor to the CM on Tourism Zahid Chin Zeb, tourist areas were divided into different zones, and staff and machinery were dispatched to handle any emergencies.
Wherever roads were blocked due to snowfall, efforts were made to reopen them promptly. The link roads of the Kaghan Valley will also be restored soon to reduce the hardships faced by the public. Additionally, practical steps will be taken to promote tourism in Kaghan
. MPA Laghmani expressed his appreciation for the restoration of roads, which is crucial for the development of tourism and winter tourism, and thanked the KDA DG and his staff.
He said that the KDA had restored the road to the Ski Kinari Dam, and he wished that the authority would coordinate with the National Highway Authority (NHA) to restore the road up to Naran as soon as possible.
