A reporter for Infowars, Jamie White, was found dead in Austin, Texas, late Sunday night, with founder Alex Jones claiming the journalist was "brutally murdered."
The Austin Police Department (APD) confirmed they were investigating a possible homicide after officers discovered White, an adult male, with visible trauma on the 2300 block of Douglas Street in South Austin around midnight. Despite efforts to save him, White died from his injuries at the hospital.
The APD did not provide specific details on the cause of death, but Jones took to his website to confirm White’s passing, attributing it to the policies of Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza.
"We are deeply saddened to inform you that InfoWars Reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered due to the policies of the Soros-backed Austin, TX D.A. Jose Garza," Jones stated.
While Infowars is the only outlet to identify White as the victim, Jones vowed that White’s death would not be in vain, promising that those responsible would be held accountable.
Jones’ comments come amid ongoing legal troubles for Infowars, particularly after a judge recently blocked a second auction of the site to pay for two defamation judgments. These lawsuits stemmed from Jones' false claims about the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which he said was a hoax orchestrated to push gun control policies.
The misinformation led to harassment and stalking of the victims' families by followers of Infowars. Jones’ future with the media outlet remains uncertain.
