
The district police have arrested seven suspected robbers and started interrogating them after seizing cash, mobile phones, weapons and motorcycles from them.
According to the police, Samanabad SHO Ghazi Imtiaz Jappa and his team carried out a raid near Samundri Road and arrested Ali Haider Waleed and Ghufran Sultan, who were involved in robbery and looting. The oleic seized two mobile phones, cash and stolen motorcycles from them and started questioning them.
The Peoples Colony police raided a place in Yasrib Colony and arrested Danish and Behrooz, suspected of being involved in robberies. The police recovered cash, a mobile phone and weapons from their possession.
Thekriwala SHO Abid Jatt raided various places and arrested Atif, a resident of Chak No. 266RB, seizing seven mobile phones, cash and weapons from his posses-sion.
Two of the suspect's accomplices, Mian Sufyan, resident of 67JB, and Maroof alias Bai, resident of Samundri, managed to escape.
According to the police, the three men had been committing crimes in Thekriwala for ten past three days. Iqbal Town SP Abid Zafar had formed teams in plainclothes to apprehend them, who arrested one of them, while raids were being conducted to arrest the two others.
Gulfashan Colony checkpoint ASI Ehsan Akram raided a place in Bawwala and ar-rested Bilal Riaz, a resident of Ali Housing Colony, and Muhammad Iqbal Ghulam, of Malikpur, who were involved in robberies and looting citizens. The raiding team seized two pistols, Rs10,000, two mobile phones and a motorcycle and started questioning the suspects.
Meanwhile, seven citizens were robbed of cash, mobile phones and other items by tricksters in various areas.
In the area of Green Town, Abdul Ahad was travelling in a rickshaw when trick-sters, posing as passengers, drugged him, rendering him unconscious.
They robbed him of Rs204,000, a mobile phone, and other valuable belongings. At Ghuman Wala Chowk, Millat Town, Zahid was lured into conversation by swindlers, who then robbed him of Rs5,500.
In the Sumbal Chowk area of Sargodha Road, Lateef was tricked into conversation by snatchers, who stole his valuable mobile phone. Similar incidents were reported in Rajana Road Samundri, where Tariq Mahmood was robbed of cash and a mobile phone, and Rajbah Road, where Shahbaz was robbed of cash and a bag full of clothes.
Abbas Rafiq was robbed of cash and mobile phone by tricksters at Hazari Mor People's Colony.
