Islamabad police confirmed on Sunday that the suspects seen assaulting women in a viral video near F-9 Park last month were arrested and sent to jail under judicial custody.
According to a post on X by the Islamabad police, the violent incident took place last month, prompting the capital police to take swift action and register a case against the suspects involved. The police had initially requested a three-day physical remand, which was granted by the court, following which the suspects were sent to jail on judicial remand.
The video, which gained widespread attention on social media on Monday, depicted a man attacking women near F-9 Park.
The incident, according to the FIR filed on February 23, occurred when the man blocked the women's car while they were visiting the McDonald's outlet in the park. The complainant, a woman, stated that she and her daughters were assaulted after questioning why the suspect had parked his car in front of theirs.
The FIR revealed that the suspect and his friends began attacking the women, pulling their hair, dragging them on the street, and attempting to steal their car.
