The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has formulated a comprehensive cleaning plan for Rawalpindi district ahead of Eidul Azha 2026.
More than 6,340 workers and 1,066 vehicles and machinery have been assigned for the cleaning operation and the leaves of all staff have been canceled. The operation will continue in seven tehsils and 164 union councils of Rawalpindi, where special cleaning and washing of houses, mosques, Eidgahs and graveyards will be carried out. Special cleaning teams have also been formed for cattle markets and communal altars.
Additionally, 33 transfer stations, four dump sites, thousands of containers and 37,6700 waste bags will be provided for timely disposal of garbage. Helpline 1139 will remain active 24 hours a day for immediate redressal of citizens' complaints.
The process of removing garbage, sprinkling lime and cleaning will continue uninterrupted during the three days of Eid, while an awareness campaign is also being conducted on social, print and electronic media.
