Man kills two 'muggers in self-defence'

After being robbed, Danish follows the suspects with a gun

KARACHI:

The megalopolis, which usually sees a string of fatal robbery attempts, witnessed a rare act of self-defence when a citizen in Nazimabad shot and killed two alleged robbers on Sunday.

The incident occurred near a private hospital in Nazimabad, where two armed men on a motorcycle robbed citizens Danish and Shahzeb of their mobile phones and cash at gunpoint. Danish retrieved a weapon from his car and chased the bandits, eventually shooting and killing them.

Police and rescue officials arrived at the scene, shifted the bodies to the hospital, and recovered two mobile phones, two pistols, cash, and other items from the bandits' possession.

Authorities are working to identify the slain bandits. The police have also recorded the statement of the citizen who shot the bandits, and an investigation is underway.

Another suspected robber was killed by a guard riding a 4x4 near Shafiq Morr in New Karachi. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

According to the police, two suspects riding a motorcycle were fleeing after attacking a family when a guard opened fire on them, killing one of the robbers while the other fled the scene.
