Man held for attempting to set daughter-in-law, grandson on fire
The police have arrested a man who tried to set his daughter-in-law and grandson on fire by pouring petrol. According to the police report, the case filed by Celia Karamat, wife of Edwin Asher, a resident of Chak 228, GB Naradada, has been filed with the Tarkhani police.
She said that her husband is residing in Karachi for work and she and her child live with her father-in-law in the same house.
The victim added that her father-in-law, Buta Sadiq, son of Sadiq Masih, tried to set her and her two-year-old son Alek on fire by pouring petrol from a plastic bottle due to a domestic dispute.
On her resistance, the matchsticks fell on the ground from the hands of the father-in-law. Witnesses Qamar, Cornelius hearing the noise, came to the spot.
Meanwhile, the accused fled the spot, which was reported to the police. Upon receiving information, Tarkhani police station SHO Adil Gulfam reached the spot and took action, arrested the accused, registered a case against him under 324 IPC and started the interrogation process.
In separate incidents, two people, including an elderly man, were tortured and drugged to death.
The police handed over the bodies of both the deceased to their heirs after postmortem and registered cases.
Police said 38-year-old Mohammad Bilal Allah Ditta, a resident of Muzaffargarh, who had come to Faisalabad, near Jaranwala Road, Gulshan Sweet Ghausia Road 214 RB, in the limits of Madina Town police station, was drugged to death by unknown persons. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital by the rescue team.
On receiving information, police officers reached the spot and handed over the body to the deceased's father Allah Ditta after postmortem.
